Using The Radio to Strengthen Bonds by Fth. Hennis Nyangbe
—————————
Distant Members Fellowship of the Stephen Trowen Nagbe United Methodist Church, during the Holy Week utilized the United Methodist Church’s Radio Station as a conduit to engage with members back home, fostering a sense of connection and community despite physical distance.
The primary purpose of these interactions was to extend warm greetings to members at home while providing a comprehensive update on the Fellowship’s activities, programs, and future plans.
During these engaging sessions, individual Distant Members had the opportunity to introduce themselves, share their current location, and discuss their activities abroad. They were also granted a few minutes to convey heartfelt greetings to their Church members back home, further strengthening the bonds of fellowship across borders.
Additionally, the President of the Distant Members Fellowship, Dartor Bolo, took the stage to elaborate on the Fellowship’s ongoing programs, notable achievements, and exciting prospects for the future. Of particular mention was an upcoming Distant Members Fellowship Conference in Philadelphia (August 29 – September 1), eagerly anticipated by members near and far.
As the program drew to a close, the air waves resonated with joviality as members indulged in light-hearted banter, exchanging jokes and playful jibes about the strengths and weaknesses of their respective English Premier League Clubs. This light-hearted conclusion served as a reminder of the shared quality of affording easy familiarity, sociability and joyful spirit that transcends geographical boundaries within the United Methodist Church Community.
