A Recipe for Success: Bringing Soul to the DMF Food Sale

The Southeastern Region of the Distant Members Fellowship (DMF) recently hosted a highly successful food sale in Charlotte, North Carolina. This annual event, held on July 27, 2024, not only raised funds for the Fellowship’s initiatives but also fostered a sense of community and camaraderie among its members.

A Menu that Warmed Hearts

The food sale featured a diverse array of traditional Liberian dishes, each lovingly prepared by the region’s members. From Torborgee & Rice to Plantain & Fried Fish, every dish was a testament to the rich culinary heritage of Liberia. Customers and guests alike were treated to a culinary experience that was both delicious and authentic.

A Team Effort

While the food sale was a regional effort, a group of women leaders deserves special recognition for their tireless efforts. Sis. Nanela Tarplah Warner, Sis. Annie Kesselly, Sis. Mercy Sampson, Mother Rose Panton Bropleh, Sis. Brenda Bedell, and Sis. Araminta Dixon were the driving force behind the event’s success. Their selflessness, determination, and commitment to the DMF community are an inspiration to all.

Bringing Soul to the Recipe

As Thomas Keller, the renowned American chef, once said, “A recipe has no soul. You, as the cook, must bring soul to the recipe.” The women of the Southeastern Region embodied this spirit, infusing every dish with love, care, and a deep sense of community. By doing so, they created a truly unforgettable culinary experience that will be cherished by all who attended.

A Lasting Legacy

The success of the food sale is a testament to the power of community and collaboration. The Southeastern Region’s efforts will have a lasting impact on the DMF community, fostering a sense of unity and purpose among its members. As the region continues to grow and thrive, its commitment to serving others and promoting community development will remain at the forefront of its endeavors.
